The most economical way to reach Belize is via Cancun in Mexico. The 5 hour luxury bus trip from the airport to the border costs $25 and saves around $500 in air fares. Just go to the Cancun downtown bus station and get the first class bus to Chetumal. Chetumal is 15 miles from Corozal. There are regular buses between the two towns. Corozal is a friendly, english speaking, community and a good place to decompress after a long journey. Corozal Bay was favored by the Mayans and there are 2 archaeological sites nearby. Snorkel on the second biggest reef in the northern hemisphere, or just enjoy the ambience round the town.

Corozal is the jumping-off point to the Cayes. (Corozal Airport is three miles out of town and $5 by taxi). There are several flights a day to San Pedro. Or you could take the local water-taxi to Ambergris Caye The Thunderbolt has 2 sailings a day (7am and 3pm) .

Aerial view of Corozal

We rent bicycles for $5.00 a day and many of our guests bike and rest and get in the mood for further travel. Our 26' panga can take you across the Bay in minutes to the Mayan ruins at Cerros.

The fishing in the area is excellent, and we also provide access to the Mayan ruins in Lamanai. Our location has both proximity to Mexico and access to the Cayes.
